I believe the President owes an apology to the nation for his comments he made regarding the arrest of his friend, Professor Gates.
At the end of a hand fed press conference, the President then made some ill-advised comments. The trouble he has when there is no teleprompter.
The President even had the perfect out, he said at the beginning of his statement that he did not have all the facts of the case. If you don't have the facts, why are going to make comments that sound like they are based in fact. Say "I don't know the facts, therefore I can't comment on that." It would be better than offending law enforcement officials and playing the race card. Since when is it a law that people can't be arrested in their house? I see it all the time on Cops.
I waited to comment on this until I heard facts. I've heard the copies of the arrest report (you can view them on smokinggun.com), the 911 call and even the conversation between the arresting officer and his dispatch (where you can hear Gates in the background yelling). From everything I've seen/read/heard, the President was way out of line in his comments and the Cambridge Police Office deserves an apology.

Senator Reid
I just can't get enough of his two way talking. He blames the Bush administration for a bill that he voted for in Congress. The law actually forbids the Federal Government from using public funds to pay for conference rooms/accommodations for training and seminars. The law does not list any places that are blacklisted, it simply does not allow the government to spend money ANYWHERE for training and/or conferences. So if Reid sent memos to all the government agencies claiming that Las Vegas, Orlando, Reno, San Diego & San Antonio are all acceptable destinations for government travel, he is in direct violation of a law that he voted for. Did he forget that he voted for the bill, did he not no what was in the bill he voted for or is it more double talk because, like most liberals he wants to appear to like he cares because he's up for reelection in 2010? Very similar to the CCW bill that was voted down in the Senate, that would allow legal, registered gun owners with concealed carry permits to cross state lines. A very unliberal move Senator.
We can also look at his double talk about the high speed train from Las Vegas to Southern California. There are two options, the first is the maglev train and the second is the Desert Xpress. Senator Reid has backed the maglev proposal since the two were unveiled until recently. The owner of the Desert Xpress just joined the Republicans for Reid and made a contribution to Reids reelection and low and behold the Senator now supports the Desert Xpress, which is slated to run from Las Vegas to Victorville. Victorville? The tourist destination everyone in Las Vegas can't wait to get to. Where would we be in Las Vegas without the rush of tourist who come up from Victorville. From the LA area, you would have to drive about two hours to get to Victorville to catch a train to Las Vegas, which is only about two more hours by car.
Is this really the type of person we want representing us, one who follows the money, he only alligence is to the biggest bank.

Harry Reid
How can Harry Reid stand up there and blame the previous administration for policies that were created by bills passed by Congress? The bill passed in 2006, Reid and Obama both were in the Senate at the time. It was attached as a rider to a bill on stopping domestic violence.
That is one of the problems with the riders attached to bills. A bill may have great intentions and because of that, we see pork attached to the bills. Just like the stimulus package, only about 10% of the stimulus has been spent and nearly all that has been spent has been pet projects in proobama supporters districts. Is that good government?
