Everyone that is interested in freedom and privacy should look into HR 45. This bill infringes on the 2nd Amendment to the United States Constitution. This bill would require a very tightly controlled gun registration system. To own any type of firearm or handgun you must submit all your personal information. The bill also allows for government searches anywhere firearms are stored! Would that not constitute an unreasonable search? So not only are they trying to severely restrict our 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms, but they are going after the 4th Amendment right as well. I don't think they are just going to skip over the 3rd Amendment. Once the Constitution is trampled on it becomes very easy to forget about the rest of the Bill of Rights.
The 1st Amendment is already being threatened by the "Fairness Doctrine", this freedom limiting act was finally overturned in the mid 1980's and radicals have been trying to reinstate it every since. The new FCC Diversity (not to be called)czar has even more radical ideas than the Fairness Doctrine. It includes crazy formulas that are designed to penalize the private industry and promote "State controlled media". This diversity czar Mark Lloyd has praised the Hugo Chavez and his dictator-like take of Venezuela and the role media played in the revolution. Lloyd wants to impose a tax on private broadcast companies that amounts to 100% of their operating budget. 100%! The tax is to be turned over to "public media outlets".
If we as citizens don't stand up for our rights, especially the Bill of Rights, this country will have a totally different landscape in the next few years. No free speech, guns seized, political dissidents jailed and held and an all powerful federal government that controls the lives of the "slaves" that supply the means of production. Does this sound far fetched? It shouldn't and that's what makes it all the more scary. "They" have been chipping away slowly at all of our freedoms until we have none left. Most of the bills have built in loopholes, vague language left open for many different interpretations. Why are the leaders of Canada, Mexico and the United States working towards a North American Union? Erasing borders, single currency and a single economy. A single country?
Lenin has said that health care is the keystone for socialism, other radicals have shown that if you control the media it goes a long way to controlling the masses. An unarmed population has no means to defend itself against a private military or a government that controls the means of production. Groundwork has been set, the foundation is there, for example. Under the previous administration, a green jobs rider was attached to a bill, the bill passed. When the stimulus package was shoved through Congress, all of a sudden, the previously unfunded green jobs plan came into a windfall in the amount of $500 million.
One key is to impose term limits on our Congressman! Vote them all out, we need to return to where normal people, looking out for the good of the country are elected to represent us. When did the politics become for the elite of society? How do they ever have our best interest in mind?

Letter to Senator Reid
I have attached a copy of my letter to Sen. Reid. Please use this letter to send to your Senators.
You must not resort to reconciliation to ram health care "reform" down America's throat. This is a strong arm tactic that needs to be better defined. It was originally intended for BUDGET reconciliation, not to shove questionable bills through the process. We had the previous administration use this tactic to push through oil drilling and trade authority among other things. This process must be more clearly defined if not removed altogether. The Byrd rule is helpful but doesn't go far enough, there is no indication of what is incidental according to reconciliation. This rule makes a mockery of the Senatorial process this country was founded on.
Look at the polls, the town hall meetings, the blogs, the editorials more people are against the proposed health care reform. We, the people, do want and need health care reform, we just don't want BIG GOV'T health care. There are several types of reform that would really help United States citizens among these are: tax credits for individuals, not the employer; allowing portability of insurance plans; allowing interstate purchase of insurance policies; reducing the some of the 2000 federal and state mandates put on insurance companies; pre-tax health insurance accounts. These are some things that would reduce the cost of health insurance without the government involvement. There are approximately 47% of people living in the country (legal or not, citizen or not) that are already on some form of government ran health care. Would it not be better to fix the problems in the existing "government" health care such as welfare, social security, medicare, medicaid and Veteran's Affairs before cramming another half thought, hair brained program down the throats of the people you are "representing"?
The use of reconciliation to pass a very controversial health care reform bill would be a great injustice to the foundations this great country was founded and shows that our "politicians" in Washington are not even listening to what the people are saying. I would not be happy with any government ran health care program, it takes away my freedom, even more than all the insurance mandates. I would feel a little better about the government plan if all of our elected officials were mandated to accept the same health care you want to jam through the "Senatorial Process".
If you resort to this underhanded reconciliation tactic to pass health care reform, I will do everything in my power to make sure you do not get reelected. I will rally supporters, protest and create petitions to get the word out. I am not a "paid" protester, was not organized by a radio host or political party, not an "astroturf" protester and I am most certainly not an "EVIL MONGER" or a racist nazi (as you and other members of Congress have called me). I am simply a hard working, United States Citizen that wants to pursue the American Dream.

What have we done?
Came across this video, it's worth the watch. It's scary that people actually thought this way about electing Obama. This in not the only video I have seen with the same sentiment.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9SPdh4Nzy4
When did the United States of America stop being the "Land of Opportunity" and start being the "Land of Entitlement"? It's hard to believe that anybody could really think that way. It just shows what happens when the government takes care of the people instead of the people taking care of themselves. What will become of America when everyone is looking for a handout, no one can take care of themselves and rely on the government to provide everything? Will the government institute a policy of trickle up poverty? We know the liberal goal is to redistribute the wealth but will anybody with wealth remain in America? According to Lenin, the control of health care is the keystone in the arch of socialism. If health care is the keystone, I wonder which stone the banking industry or auto industry is? How about the housing industry? With Cap and Trade the government will control the nation's energy but what's next? Is that why Obama was hanging out with Chavez and Castro? Why does he so much wants to meet with North Korea and China? Could it be that they all took over their countries and that's the goal behind it? Nearly every President has had a czar or two, but not until Obama has the total reached nearly 36. I would ask why the media isn't screaming out about this but they have been so biased for the last 12 years nothing surprises me with them. There is a soft tyranny going on here. Our country is slowly turning in the wrong direction, unless you're like the lady in the video above. Socialist programs are killing the American Spirit. John F Kennedy had the best quote, that we need to look at once again and make it true. "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." As the American Spirit is slowly dying and capitalists and conservatives are portrayed as evil mongers, domestic terrorists, mobs, extremists and even neanderthals, will there be anybody left to contribute to society? The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other peoples money. I can only hope that my country wakes up before it's to late. Open your eyes and let your voice be heard. It's never been easier, go to congress.org and all it takes is a few clicks. They say if the sheep in the lead goes over the cliff, all the sheep following will go over the same cliff. Our country is about to go over the cliff and the sheep are right there ready to go over the edge and keep asking "what is my country going to give me."

Corruption
Secretary of Commerce, Gary F Locke.
Under investigation for campaign finance violations. $3.2 billion dollar tax break to boeing while paying and listening to boeing's consultant. Allowing family members to live in the Gov's mansion, tax breaks for relative's companies.
John Huang (major campaign contributor), has pleaded guilty to felony conspiracy to make illegal campaign contributions to Locke.
Under investigation for mishandling cash contributions, trips to buddhist temples where contributions changed hands.
Secretary of Health and Human Services. Kathleen Sebelius
"Accidently" forgets to report money from the late term abortion doctor George Tiller for money received over 8 years, and lied to the Senate about receiving any money.
Of course, that means tax implications.
Secretary of Treasury, Timothy Geithner.
Failed to pay taxes on self employment wages, illegal deductions and either Obama or Timothy Geithner are lying about who was responsible, Geithner says TurboTax but Obama says his accountant was to blame.
US Trade Representative, Ron Kirk.
Failed to pay taxes, used proceeds to buy basketball tickets, improperly claimed charitable deductions.
Nancy Killefer, withdrew her name from the Chief Performance Officer because of tax issues paying her staff.
If any normal person did the same, we would be in jail with everything we own being taken by the Federal Government. If I fail to pay my taxes, can I get a federal appointment.
We can't forget the federal judge that was fired for investigating a friend of Obama, without proper cause or without following proper procedures.
I'm not trying to say Obama is the only politician with crooked friends, I would be comfortable saying that 90% of politicians are crooked or associate with crooked friends. That's why I'm for term limits and to severely limit the compensation and perks that these people bestow upon them selves.

"UN"fairness doctrine
The fairness doctrine is anything but fair. How can the United States even look at something as unconstitutional as the Fairness Doctrine. The Fairness Doctrine is nothing more than a violation of the First Amendment. What the Fairness Doctrine says is that their must be equal opportunity for opposing viewpoints over public media sources. Basically, if there is a liberal show, there must be a conservative show. This "Fairness Doctrine" was introduced by liberals who felt their viewpoints weren't being heard over the radio, that radio focused on conservative shows. This doctrine was first introduced in 1949 in afford reasonable opportunity for the discussion of opposing viewpoints of public importance. In 1987 it was overturned because despite it's purpose, it didn't create discussion on controversial issues and was thought to violate the First Amendment.
There are bills in both houses of Congress to codify the 1949 act and make it law. This would give the government the right to censorship. Supporters of the bill claim it will help create debate from both sides of the issue.
Send notes to your Congressmen and tell them they better not vote for censorship, they must vote against the Fairness Doctrine. Our country was founded on Free Speech, in fact it's our First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. Censorship in any form must not be allowed!

Health Care Reform
From the information I have gathered from various sources, these are my thoughts on how to reform health care. The liberals claim that conservatives are shooting down the health care bills and have offered no solutions, when in fact they have. The ideas that follow, I have borrowed from many different people and places from the conservative plans I researched. I am not trying to claim any of this as my own and there are way to many sources to cite. This by no means is a total plan with all the details, just a rough outline. So here it goes.
The first thing that needs to be done is the government needs to take the tax break away from business and give it back to the individual. Companies currently get a tax break for insurance, this came about during WWII when the government froze pay rates to support the war effort. Business started providing insurance to the employees in lieu of pay raises. That took health insurance out of the hands of the people and put it in the hands of the government, insurance companies and our employers. If the individual was given the tax credit, we could then pick our own insurance plan. Employers often choose the best insurance for them, not the employee. Low deductibles and high premiums encourage use for minor and day to day services, not the catastrophic events that insurance was intended. Not being able to "keep" any of the savings after the deductible is reached gives people a use it or lose it mentality which causes spending on lower end care that we might not even see a doctor about. This makes us "over-insured" in the low end care.
The next thing that would need to be done is to reduce government involvement in the health insurance industry. A lot of the reasons for rising costs in health insurance is caused by the government ran medicare, medicaid, veterans admin hospitals, malpractice law and licensing restrictions. Government mandates what insurance companies must cover, not the market. Mandates require that insurers cover such things as martial counseling, pastoral counseling, sperm bank donations and even toupees. Mandating these coverages forces the cost to rise. Another government restriction that causes price increases is community pools, or groupings. This forces people in a certain area into a pool with everyone else in a geographical region. Healthy, young people are grouped in with elderly and the sick and the medical history of the individual are not taken into account (My insurance plan, I pay the same for my family plan, with no history of serious illness, mine or family history as a co-worker's family plan and he has heart and liver problems). Another government regulation is the practice of gag orders, prohibiting bad mouthing insurance companies. That prevents people from getting the real facts about an insurance company, whether they are slow to pay or poorly managed. In some areas, the government sets the range the insurers can charge and create more costs by creating a cumbersome filing and approval process, in some instances to complete the government required paperwork costs the insurance companies as much as the medical procedure. Most insurance policies are basically take it or leave it, with no consumer input.
If we can get the government out of the insurance industry, we can let the free market system work like it was designed. Treat health insurance more like auto or homeowners insurance. The free market system when left alone works great, let the market dictate the cost. If individuals were able to buy insurance from any company in any state, that would drive up the competition. If individuals paid for insurance based on their health, not a geographical group that would help bring down overall costs. Insurance is not intended for the daily costs. Imagine what your auto insurance would cost if it covered gas, oil changes, car washes, tire rotations or the cost of homeowners insurance if it covered heat, water, a/c, landscaping. The low end care costs of health insurance is what is driving up the costs. Let the family doctors charge for the services such as check ups or flu shots. If you could choose any doctor that would increase competition and drive price down. Save the insurance for the catastrophic events, hospitalization and surgeries (like the car accident or house fire)
The free market system is flawless, if left alone by the government. I'm not for welfare but I understand that some sort of relief is needed for those less fortunate and I don't think they should be left out. The welfare system needs to be reformed but that's another topic altogether.
That is the basis for health care reform that would work. It takes the government out of the insurance business, takes the employer out of your insurance and gives the power back to the individual and lets the free market system thrive.

Czars, American Dictators?
Almost every country in the world, at one point in time had an autocratic ruler. These rulers had many different titles throughout history, the most prevalent being King or Emperor. Only Russia had a monarch called a Czar.
Czar
–noun
1. an emperor or king.
2. (often initial capital letter) the former emperor of Russia.
3. an autocratic ruler or leader.
Characterization of the Czar is first taken from the First Russian Ruler to use the title, Ivan IV in the mid 1500's. Ivan's 37 year rule resulted in the nickname, Ivan the Terrible and during his rule, he governed Russia absolutely and ruthlessly. Ivan the Terrible eliminated anyone that stood in his way, including the Russian nobility and his son and heir. Ivan borrowed Czar from the Roman title Caesar.
Czar
-noun
4. any person exercising great authority or power in a particular field: a czar of industry.
The use of "czars" in the United States government is not a new concept, the first modern American czar, was an energy czar appointed by President Nixon in 1973. Presidents Ford and Carter followed suit. Against the concerns of President Reagan, Congress, in 1982 enacted a law to create a drug czar. The czar was primarily a ceremonial post until President Bush appointed William Bennett. President Clinton added a second drug czar to prove his tough stance on drugs. Through the 1990's we had health care czars, aids czars, zoning czars, land use czars and even a food czar. The trend has gotten worse lately. We now have stimulus czars, car czars, spending czars, pay czars, environmental czars, I think we are up to nearly two dozen.
These czars are appointed by the President and DO NOT require Congressional approval! These czars have discretionary executive powers, expanding the policy initiatives of the President. For example, the pay czar has required the top 19 financial institutions to submit compensation packages of their top 25% employees and after review this pay czar CAN adjust the packages as he sees fit! You can search the Constitution, there is no mention of any "czars". Did the founding fathers realize coercive powers must be held in check? That if any one branch held to much power it would disrupt the checks and balances that were installed to protect our freedoms. Instead of the rule of law, we are stuck with one mini dictator after another imposing the will of a few on the majority of the nation. The more power the governments wields, the more they become an elitist class, leading not by the law of the land, but by use of intimidation and threats.
Congress needs to strip the power from these autocrats and follow the law of the land and return the power to the people.

Government Websites
Be careful when you are on government websites, especially the cars.gov website. The disclaimer says that upon entering, the computer is considered US government property. That means everything on the computer: files, pictures, programs now belong to the federal government and gives them the right to do whatever they want to with the information found there.

Items in the healthcare bill
Before I start, I want to ask why is there job postings on craig's list offering paying positions for "protesters" to show up at town hall meetings to confront those who oppose the health care bill. How is it "unAmerican" to voice your opinion about things that will affect every American's life. Last time I checked that was how a democracy worked.
The best quote from the health care bill "The tax imposed under this section shall not be treated as tax imposed". I guess that's how you won't be taxed, because it's not treated as a tax, what's it treated as then? The surcharge on the high income individuals, is not treated as change in rate of tax. A tax by any other name is still a tax.
Another good measure is the affordability credit that will determine who gets free health care that has no income verification requirement. Doesn't sound like anyone could cheat the system there. The health care bill would also reduce Medicare by 2% per year. Wasn't Medicaid created to help with medical costs for those in the lower income brackets?
Some effects on business, UNINTENTIONAL failure to pay adequate health care can result in fines up to $500,000 and allows the US government to sue business for that money. Business that don't provide adequate health care will be taxed (see quote above about tax, not a tax) 8% for each employee. Every insurance policy written, except the government's plan will be taxed as well. How does that reduce costs, insurance companies would NEVER pass that on to policy holders. Business will not be able to persuade employees to take the public option or drop their existing plans to use the public option.
Some effects on individuals, if you don't have insurance, you will be taxed. If you have coverage and like your coverage, you can keep it (even though the insurance company will be taxed on it). All private insurers will not be able to enroll new members, only the public option will be allowed to add new members. So if you lose your insurance or want to change it, you will only be able to enroll in the government's plan. Where's the freedom in that?
Some overall effects, the large bureaucracy that the bill creates will be in charge of everything. They will consist of advisory panels and commissions that will determine costs, fees, poverty line & inflation (regarding to health care), decide the the type of treatment, type of vaccines to administer, who receives treatment all answering to the health care czar, in turn the president. The commission will be part of the executive branch and appointed by the President. There is NO administrative or judicial review allowed! A review of savings will be projected for 7 years and won't include any federal investment. The commission will have 90 days to respond, 3 months! There will be no analysis or review for 4 years! Coverage for illegal aliens and nonresident aliens, who rarely, if at all pay into the system. The commission will determine national priorities for health care. Money from the "insurance" reform will go to pay for staffing of hospitals, pay medical students, payoff medical student loans, fund hopitals and medical centers, recruit more doctors and nurses. Money will go to reduce health care infections, surgical site infections and improving patient flow in emergency rooms. How can those things even be impacted? Here's a good idea, school clinics, but the health care bill would only partially fund school clinics, non federal money has to be raised and then the bill would send some funding. I would rather see the money go into school clinics where it could help children, not pay back loans.
Some of the more scary aspects: A federal mandated health ID card, with real time access to your bank account! The federal government would have access to your finances to pay for health care and allows any official of the health care bureaucracy access to personal and financial records. Taxpayer funds will subsidize union and community organizers health plans (UAW, ACORN, SEIU) and the government will pay ACORN and Americorps to sign people up for the government option. Automatic enrollment in medicaid if qualified, no choice. The small business, as referred in the health care bill, are companies with less than 10 employees. Non residents are exempt from the tax but are eligible for coverage, who pays for them? Doctors and hospitals will be penalized for re-admissions of patients. Establishes outcome based measures, sounds like rationing to me. Restrict enrollment of special needs individuals. Control over living wills, power of attorneys, end of life counseling and advance care planning.
These were just the things that I found in the health care bill and I'm just a working class person, not a lawyer or a politician. These are things that everyone should know about. I don't think anyone is in favor of denying coverage of children or would deny the need to make some changes. The 46 million people that are uninsured include illegal aliens and people who could, but opt to not have insurance. Would it not be better to fix the problems in welfare, medicare, medicaid and social security to help those that need assistance rather than revamping the entire program and forcing Americans into socialized medicine?

Washington Elite
The main problem with politics in the United States is the Washington Elite. By Washington elite, I am referring to our wonderful elected officials that "serve our interests" in Washington DC.
These elected officials have become the political elite of our nation. They no longer are looking after our interests, just their own. They seem to have forgot that they work for us and have to answer to us. The only problem is it seems the people have forgotten that as well. Very few people get involved with politics and the most given reason is because they feel their voice isn't important. These elites have got it made and why would they do anything to jeopardize that status? They have a fat salary that they receive for "serving the people" and get 100% of that salary upon "retirement" after serving only 6 years (that's only one term for a senator and 3 for a House Rep). In addition to the salary, they receive a housing stipend, a travel allowance, a staff allowance, access to private Congressional planes, health care and many other perks, like PAC's and lobbyists. These people live in an alternate reality than the rest of the country. They see things through the eyes of those who "donated" the most to their reelection and rarely take any action to benefit the mass of society who pay the bill for all those perks, including the PAC money, it's just indirectly.
We need to fix this problem, all the politicians need to be reminded that they work for us and not the PAC's. Send all the incumbents back home to stay in the next election. Write, call, fax or email your elected officials and tell how you feel, tell them how you want them to vote.
Democracy
noun, plural -cies.
1. government by the people; a form of government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised directly by them or by their elected agents under a free electoral system.
All of these politicians were wealthy before they got elected and would remain wealthy after public service. They are making a second career out of public service which isn't even serving the public. Most recently, they have been taking over the private sector and passing legislature to control our lives and limit our freedoms.
My thoughts are that we need to impose term limits on all of them, limit them. There is no reason that we should have a single person serving in Congress for 30+ years. Do they even know what their home state looks like. Term limits are only the beginning, I think they should receive zero pay while they serve us, give them a small annual stipend to hire staff, housing and BUSINESS travel. To many times are the families with the politician on these so called business trips. Take a look at some of the locations these elitists go on with their family that us citizens pay for, it's a shame. These two measures should be enough to start the public outcry about how OUR elected officials are treating us.
We can't afford to be quiet and sit idly by while our country sinks further and further into socialism and away from what made our country the best in the world.

Bias media
The "state controlled" media has had it's way the last week showing all of these unruly mobs of veterans, elderly, handicapped and other concerned citizens asking questions about the health care bill.
The "sc" media is more than happy to portray these people as unruly mobs, nazi, paid political activists. They overlook the fact that the democrats had closed door meetings on how to handle these situations. If they read the bill and knew what it was about, maybe they would be able to answer the questions or realize how bad an idea this health care bill is to the country.
The democrats meeting apparently covered items like hold the town hall meetings in the middle of nowhere (like the one in Vermont) or hold "unscheduled" sidewalk meetings. But if they must hold public meetings, they send in the hired guns from the unions to "confront" these citizens. Take for example the town hall meeting in St Louis where union thugs assaulted citizens who asked questions.
The country is going down the tubes with the government controlling the media, the banks, the credit card industry, the auto industry, forcing insurance companies out of business, regulating pay for private industries, firing CEO's of private business' and now they want even more control over you life by controlling who, what and when people will receive healthcare. Wake Up America. The people might have elected the radicals in the White House, Senate and The House, but they still work for us, let them know, get involved and help stop this tyranny before it's too late.

Hypocrisy knows no bounds
Months after complaining about the wasteful spending of companies using bail out money for company jets and bonuses, Our wonderful members of Congress have decided that they need to add 8 more Gulf Stream C37 jets to the government fleet. The cost is only $600 million, I guess that's why they canceled building the new fighter jet.
Why cancel the fighter jet? Russia and China are both developing and manufacturing jets of a similar nature. We don't jets, tanks, guns or even bombs to win wars now, all it takes to good intentions. For example
The terrorists that wish to destroy the US and our way of life will surely come around if we send them money and schools. According to the White House antiterror czar or advisor or whatever you want to call him, the new policy on combating terrorist isn't using the military or even the CIA. The new policy will include sending economic aid and increasing educational opportunities to these Terrorist States. Sounds like a good idea, lets finance them and provide locations for the training. That should make them change their mind, it's not like they are radical extremists fighting a Jihad or anything like that.
Fight fire with fire. The new policy seems more like fighting fire with gas!

New Counter Terror Tactics
It appears that "The Administration" has a new tactic on the war against terror. It is not a new gun, vehicle, missile or smart bomb.
It has been decided that our American Values undermine our National Security a fostered a global war mind set that validates al-qaida's worldview.
"The Administration's" new national security agenda is focusing on moving away from the CIA and military measures and moving to economic and educational opportunities.
Does this sound odd to anyone else? Terrorist groups that are plotting to destroy us, training to kill us and stand against every freedom American stands for and to combat that we are going to give them money and educate them? That's the craziest thing I've ever heard. You hate us, hear take our money, let us help set up schools so you can now train and equip followers to destroy us.
Not since the end of the Cold War has the need for a strong national defense been so evident. The US is cutting the budget for new advanced fighter jets that the Russians and Chinese are building. Iran, North Korea and China are all developing and testing nuclear weapons. Long range weapons that could reach mainland United States in less than an hour. Congress is busy buying new planes so they can fly home and hide from the citizens.

Right Wing Extremist
How come if elderly people, veterans and other concerned citizens show up at Town Hall meetings to express their concerns and questions about pending legislation, they are labeled as unruly mobs, extremists and nazi's. Why not answer the questions instead of attacking those who care about the direction of our country.
The pro-Obama unions have added a new twist to the town hall meetings. They now claim they are going to show up to confront the "unruly mobs". Still the "state controlled" media says nothing about those organized efforts.
Freedom of the press doesn't mean go along with whatever "the administration" says and taint everything. It looks like there might be point shaving by someone, the unemployment numbers and people receiving unemployment benefits don't match what was reported in the media.

Letter to the house
Below is the letter that I sent to Rep in Washington about the health care bill. Please copy the letter and use it as a template for letters to your Reps! They will be home for summer break and we need to let them know how we feel.
Rep. Titus;
I am writing to you as a business owner and a constituent that has questions regarding the Health Care Bill (HR 3200). After reading the bill, I have several concerns and questions regarding it and hope you can answer my questions. I do not pretend to understand the entire bill and ask if you can help me understand a little better. Besides being very vague, one concern I have is about enrollment. It appears that you can keep your existing program and add dependents, but no private insurance company can enroll new members. So, as a business owner if I want to change providers, I would have to change to the public option? Additionally, in the construction field, I provide partial insurance to my employees and they pay the balance. I would now have to pay an additional 8% in taxes per employee in addition to the amount I already pay because, according to the bill, I can not get rid of the insurance I provide in favor of the public option. Another item of concern is the tax on insurance policies. Every insurance policy written, except the public option, would be taxed as well. Wouldn't that drive the cost of private insurance even higher and as a business I can not drop the insurance and move everyone into the public option.
The program is administered by a commission, where almost 2/3 of the commission is appointed by the President. The commission has control over everything and being part of the executive branch, would report directly to the President. Having such a small group in Washington D.C. dictating all the details of the health care program, when the bill has no details is a very scary thought.
The funding of the bill seems very obscure, if not hidden. Most references to funding just say "funds appropriated to the Treasury". It appears that the tax on the wealthy, tax on insurance policies, tax on business and taxes on individuals who do not have coverage are the main areas to raise money to pay for the bill, along with the co-payments from public option insured. Do you think that is enough money to cover the actual costs?
The bill also covered, what appears to be, the repayment of healthcare professionals loans and financing medical schools and recruiting more doctors and nurses. It would appear to me that that money would be better spent in providing medical care.
With the problems facing Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, Welfare and Veterans Affairs would it not be better to focus on eliminating waste and fraud in those systems before rushing into something that has not been thought through? If approximately 70% of Americans are content with their medical insurance, why the rush to overhaul the entire system? Should we not take the time to fix the areas in need before jumping in with both feet?
I took the time to read the entire 1018 page bill because of the possible consequences to my business. I hope you have taken the time to read it as well.

Rep. Titus;
