I don't want to ruin the movie for anyone by giving away the ending, but after all it's a Disney movie, we all know how they end, happily ever after. If you look hard enough you can find a hidden message in just about every movie, usually I try to look past it and just enjoy the movie, such as in GI Joe, the Rise of Cobra pushing a one world government. In Toy Story 3, I didn't have to look for a hidden message, it jumped right out at me, not sure if because I happen to agree with the message it gave me and I thought I should share it with everyone.
For those who have never seen any of the Toy Story trilogy let me give you some background. The kids toys come to life and have their own little adventures when there are no humans around. In Toy Story 3, the owner of the toys is going away to college and his toys get sent to a day care. The new toys meet the nice new leader of the day care toys and what a wonderful leader he his, he shows the new toys into their new room, which happens to be the toddler room. Toddlers don't know how to play nicely with toys, so the new toys get abused and nearly destroyed by the toddlers when they notice the other room, where the leader is. The leader and his regime are in the big kid room, being played with nice and proper. The new toys protest and request to be moved into the big kid room and that's where you see the true nature of the leader. He appeals to their good nature, saying that they are new and strong and can handle the abuse better than the older toys who can't handle it anymore. That they must do their part for the good of all the toys and when they object, the nice old bear turns into a mean ole grizzly. He locks up all of the toys that speak out against the "toy utopia" and even indoctrinates Buzz to his way of thinking and has him guarding his friends, the political prisoners. The toys unhappy living as prisoners to a mean old bear decide that they must break free and finish out their lives freely, as they see fit. They chose liberty over socialism. What a great story for kids of all ages. The toys took personal responsibility for their own lives and were ready to accept the consequences of their actions.
This story should be sent to all those in Congress that are taking away our liberties. They need to relearn (maybe learn for the first time) that our Founding Fathers were the original conservatives, choosing liberty to tyranny. The colonists had always been allowed to govern themselves. Election Day is just over 130 days away, make sure you are registered to vote and let your voice be heard. Recycle Congress, call for an Article V convention.
