Twas the night before

Twas the night before the election and all through the states, not a candidate was sleeping not even their mates. Attack ads were placed in the media with care, in hopes that voters beliefs they share. Radio, television and a newspaper or two, ads designed to attract voters anew. Campaigns that have been running for more than a year, attacking, misleading and playing on fear. Hoping to stall the rising tide, abandoning those they'd just hitched a ride. TARP, stimulus and bailouts for some, printing and borrowing with deficits to come. People are starting to see what's taking hold, a socialist nanny state of FDR's mold. Too many taxes and a fed way to big, 'limit the monster' they say 'we can't afford the vig.' Election day is near heed what we say, 'listen to the people or your jobs you'll pay.' Voters will wake and head to the polls, the direction of the country will begin to unfold. Tax and spend and more of the same, this admin last admin which one is to blame? The people are coming their voices to be heard, stop what you're doing your spending is absurd. Read the Constitution the law of our land, the powers are limited easy to understand. Powers designed to keep the fed small, with life, liberty and justice for all. The elites in Washington the people they ignore, cast your vote and show them the door. Our country is headed down a dangerous track, the people will speak 'we want our country back!'
