Not sure how many people have read this, but what do you think
Andy Rooney said on 60 minutes a while ago: (for those of you that don't know Andy Rooney, he is an 82 year old US TV commentator)
I don't think being a minority makes you a victim of anything except numbers. The only things I can think of that are truly discriminatory are things like the United Negro College Fund, Jet Magazine, Black Entertainment Television, and Miss Black America. Try to have things like the United Caucasian College Fund, Cloud Magazine, White Entertainment Television, or Miss White America; and see what happens. Jesse Jackson will be knocking down your door.
Guns do not make you a killer. I think killing makes you a killer. You can kill someone with a baseball bat or a car, but no one is trying to ban you from driving to the ball game.
I believe they are called the Boy Scouts for a reason, that is why there are no girls allowed. Girls belong in the Girl Scouts! ARE YOU LISTENING MARTHA BURKE
I think that if you feel homosexuality is wrong, it is not a phobia, it is an opinion.
I have the right "NOT" to be tolerant of others because they are different, weird, or tick me off.
When 70% of the people who get arrested are black, in cities where 70% of the population is black, that is not racial profiling, it is the Law of Probability.
I believe that if you are selling me a milk shake, a pack of cigarettes, a newspaper or a hotel room, you must do it in English! As a matter of fact, if you want to be an American citizen, you should have to speak English!
My father and grandfather didn't die in vain so you can leave the countries you were born in to come over and disrespect ours. I think the police should have every right to shoot your sorry self if you threaten them after they tell you to stop. If you can't understand the word "freeze" or "stop" in English, see the above lines.
I don't think just because you were not born in this country, you are qualified for any special loan programs, government sponsored bank loans or tax breaks, etc., so you can open a hotel, coffee shop, trinket store, or any other business.
We did not go to the aid of certain foreign countries and risk our lives in wars to defend their freedoms, so that decades later they could come
over here and tell us our constitution is a living document; and open to their interpretations.
I don't hate the rich. I don't pity the poor. I know pro wrestling is fake, but so are movies and television. That doesn't stop you from watching them.
I think Bill Gates has every right to keep every penny he made and continue to make more. If it ticks you off, go and invent the next operating system that's better, and put your name on the building.
It doesn't take a whole village to raise a child right, but it does take a parent to stand up to the kid; and smack their little behinds when necessary, and say "NO!"
I think tattoos and piercing are fine if you want them, but please don't pretend they are a political statement. And, please, stay home until that new lip ring heals. I don't want to look at your ugly infected mouth as you serve me French fries!
I am sick of "Political Correctness." I know a lot of black people, and not a single one of them was born in Africa; so how can they be "African-Americans" Besides, Africa is a continent. I don't go around saying I am a European-American because my great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather was from Europe. I am proud to be from America and nowhere else.
And if you don't like my point of view, tough. DON'T PASS IT ON!

The most dangerous man in the world
1944 was the best year of my life claims George Soros, who was born György Schwartz, a Hungary Jew. The Schwartz's changed their name and sent their kids to live with Christian families to avoid Nazi persecution. Little George Soros just happen to be living with a man whose job was to confiscating property from the Jewish people, George went along on this job and watched (people he had to know) this happen to his people. In a 60 minutes interview, George Soros admitted going along and had no guilt for the actions he witnessed. After World War II, Soros attended college in London and was mentored by Karl Popper a Hungarian professor who taught open society and Fallibilism. Fallibilism is a philosophical doctrine that claims all knowledge could be wrong. Open Society is a test and evaluation method of social engineering.
George Soros made his fortune on Wall Street in hedge funds (junk bonds) and currency speculation. He is credited with his first billion by shorting the English pound and is called the man who broke the bank of London. Soros crows that the former Soviet Empire is the Soros Empire. The Russia gate scandal almost collapsed the Russian economy and was labeled one of the greatest social robberies in human history. In 1997, Soros nearly destroyed the Thai and Malaysian economies. France convicted Soros of insider trading and was fined millions of dollars. Hungary fined Soros for illegal market manipulation where he nearly destroyed the economy there as well.
Soros told the Australian the America was sucking up the worlds savings as the center of the globalized financial markets adding that America's time has come for a very serious adjustment. Soros also added that the world financial crisis was stimulating and a culmination of his life's work. Soros invested heavily in Petrobras, a Brazilian oil company and shortly thereafter Obama promised $10 billion in tax payer money to develop off shore drilling. Good news for Soros and Brazil, but a loss of 160,000 and an estimated $1.7 billion in revenue to the United States.
Bill O'Reilly warned that Soros was an extremist who wanted open borders, one world foreign policy, legalized drugs, uthanasia and on and on. In 1997 Rachel Ehrenfeld wrote, “Soros uses his philanthropy to change—or more accurately deconstruct—the moral values and attitudes of the Western world, and particularly of the American people. His “open society” is not about freedom; it is about license. His vision rejects the notion of ordered liberty, in favor of an ideology of rights and entitlements.” David Horowitz and Richard Poe are among the best whistle blowers on Soros, in their book they describe how he hijacked the democratic party. Soros has been packing the democratic party with radicals for years and replacing the moderates (I'll have some more on this in another blog).
“By his [Soros’] own admission, he helped engineer coups in Slovakia, Croatia, Georgia, and Yugoslavia. When Soros targets a country for “regime change,” he begins by creating a shadow government—a fully formed government-in-exile, ready to assume power when the opportunity arises. The Shadow Party he has built in America greatly resembles those he has created in other countries prior to instigating a coup.” The above quote was, of course, written before the Presidential Election. So was the following quote from a November 2008 edition of the German magazine “Der Spiegel,” in which Soros gives his opinion on what the next POTUS should do after taking office. “I think we need a large stimulus package….” Soros thought that around 600 billion would be about right. Soros also said that “I think this is a great opportunity to finally deal with global warming and energy dependence. The U.S. needs a cap and trade system with auctioning of licenses for emissions rights.”
Although Soros doesn’t (yet) own the Republican Party, like he does the Democrats, make no mistake, his tentacles are spread throughout the Republican Party as well.
Soros is a partner in the Carlyle Group where he has invested more than 100 million dollars. According to an article by “The Baltimore Chronicle’s” Alice Cherbonnier, the Carlye Group is run by “a veritable who’s who of former Republican leaders,” from CIA man Frank Carlucci, to CIA head [and ex-President] George Bush, Sr.
In late 2006, Soros bought about 2 million shares of Halliburton—Dick Cheney’s old stomping grounds.
When the Democrats and Republicans held their conventions in 2000, Soros held Shadow Party conventions in the same cities, at the same time. Republican Senator John McCain was the keynote speaker at the “Soros Convention” (so labelled by the late Robert Novak) in Philadelphia.
Soros has dirtied both sides of the aisle, trust me. And if that weren’t bad enough, he has long held connections with the CIA.
And I musn’t forget to mention Soros’ involvement with the LSM (Lame Stream Media), the entertainment industry (e.g. he owns 2.6 million shares of Time Warner), and the various political advertising organizations he funnels millions to.
As Matthew Vadum writes, “The liberal billionaire-turned-philanthropist has been buying up media properties for years in order to drive home his message to the American public that they are too materialistic, too wasteful, too selfish, and too stupid to decide for themselves how to run their own lives.”
Richard Poe writes, “Soros’ private philanthropy, totaling nearly $5 billion, continues undermining America’s traditional Western values. His giving has provided funding of abortion rights, atheism, drug legalization, sex education, euthanasia, feminism, gun control, globalization, mass immigration, gay marriage and other radical experiments
in social engineering.”
Some of the many NGOs (Non Government Organizations) that Soros funds with his billions are: MoveOn.org, the Apollo Alliance, Media Matters for America, the Tides Foundation, the ACLU, ACORN, PDIA (Project on Death In America), La Raza, and many more. Poe continues, “Through his global web of Open Society Institutes and Open Society Foundations, Soros has spent 25 years recruiting, training, indoctrinating and installing a network of loyal operatives in 50 countries, placing them in positions of influence and power in media, government, finance and academia.”
America stands at the brink of an abyss, and that fact is directly attributable to Soros. Soros has vigorously, cleverly, and insidiously planned the ruination of America.
His conduct has been immoral, duplicitous, and traitorous. Stripping Soros of his U.S. citizenship, should be one of the first steps taken during the upcoming courtroom trials.
And trials there must be. No matter the cost, the nest of vipers on Capitol Hill, and all of the traitors in the government at large, must be brought to task for their behavior, or a free America is doomed.

Honduras
Not that I'm a big advocate for intervention in foreign affairs, I feel there is enough problems facing our country that to meddle in every dispute worldwide would be foolish. That does not mean that I think we should be isolationists, or hide or head in the sand at every event going on in the world. The United States of America, I believe, has the right to intervene in any situation, anywhere in the world, in the interest of the protection of the American way of life. There are enemies out there that wish to destroy America and everything that we stand for and others that are destined to destroy the capitalist society and the free markets. With that in mind, to not look out for the country's best interest would be as foolish. Communist regimes defying United Nations sanctions and testing long range ballistic missiles and developing nuclear weapons. Weapons that could reach Seattle, Washington in less than 45 minutes. Radical Islamic regimes in the middle east developing nuclear weapons, denies the holocaust (claims it was a political myth) ever occurred and has repeatedly said he wants to wipe Israel off the map. Several other Countries in the region are believed to harbor current terrorist (can't call them that) organizations. One country in Northern Africa even had a hero's welcome for a convicted terrorist bomber released in the United Kingdom. South America seems to be full of leftist dictators, we all know about Castro in Cuba and are learning about Chavez in Venezuela and now with Honduras even more about the region.
The situation in Honduras, we cut off aid to the country because the Honduran Supreme Court deemed the power play to eliminate Presidential term limits was unconstitutional. The popularly elected Congress installed a new acting President and through Zeyala out of the country. Like most events in South America, it didn't end there, Zeyala is back and there are people on both sides and for both canidates. I don't know much about the situation or the conditions down there. US politicians on both sides of the aisle have weighed in on both sides as well. My thought is if the Honduran Congress and Supreme Court both want Zeyala out and Cuba, Venezuela, Ecuador and Bolivia all want Zeyala back in, I side with with keeping him out. Not so much because I support the Honduran government as much as I distrust Cuba and the Communist regime that runs it. I also don't trust Chavez in Venezuela. He is exporting oil to Iran, yes the same radical Islamic regime mentioned above, and is outspoken about his hatred for the United States. Chavez is turning out to be a very left wing leader and has taken control of the media, the oil industry, the steel industry and is even indoctrinating children in the schools. The White House sides with Castro and Chavez and wants the left wing dictator Zeyala back in power in Honduras. Also from the White House, if Israel should attempt to destroy Iran's nuclear facilities, that the United States should confront the incoming attack in Iran's defense!
It really makes me wonder about the direction of the country, when the Leader of the Free World sides with dictators and communists over the democratic government and the decision of the Congress and Supreme Court in that country. With all the manufactured crisis that are popping up, health care crisis (where was the outrage last year), the economic crisis (gov't created) and the environmental crisis (all the tests and data are outdated and misleading). I afraid that all the fat, dumb and happy Americans will follow the state controlled media over the socialist edge. Cap and Trade and Single Payer Health Care are more ways for the government to control our lives. Controlling energy, controlling health care, controlling banks, controlling manufacturing, disarming the military, building a "civilian" military and redistribution of wealth, loss of the Bill of Rights. If you look at some of the left wing radical thoughts on overthrowing true democracy for the installation of a statist regime they are a few different ways, that appear to be happening now in America. Deflect any criticism from the issue with a smear campaign, attack every possible flaw because, like humans, government is imperfect in it's best form. Promote class distinction and racial tensions. Create a generation of entitlement, make the less fortunate feel they were wronged and the government must take care of them. Make the weight of the system collapse upon itself. If you keep taking the producers out of the society and pushing them into the entitlement generation you end up with more taking out than putting in and that in the simplest terms is unsustainable. The collapse is another way to point the blame at the system instead of the real cause. The entitlement programs and the leftists that installed them. Where is the 1st Amendment when a assembly is determined unlawful for not having a permit? I understand the logic behind the permit, but doesn't the permit in itself infringe on the 1st Amendment's right to assemble?
The things that need to be looked at, and I hate to be a conspiracy theorist, is who is directing everything. If everything is leaning so far left and all of our former enemies are now praising us and our former allies are being slighted by us. "Something is rotten is the state of Denmark"

Destroying the First Amendment
With the Fairness Doctrine still alive in both houses of Congress and the new FCC Diversity (not to be called) czar glowing about Chavez, the Dictator in Venenzula, and his "glorious" revolution including takeover of the media; the First Amendment to the United States Constitution is now being threatened again. I already did some discussion on the Fairness Doctrine and Czar Lloyd. The Fairness Doctrine to obvious and Lloyd to radical (maybe), the Senate has introduced new bills to give the government power to control the internet, including shutting down whatever the President determines to be critical. Senate Bill 773 was introduced by Sen Rockefeller and would give the federal government control over "cyberspace" in the name of "security" and "protection" of privacy. This bill also creates a large bureaucracy (nothing new) that will answer directly to the President. The President also will determine all state, local and non-governmental networks to be considered critical and thus able to be shut down by executive order. SB 773 also will set standards to be included in ALL software and hardware to reduce the risk of cyber attack and even pay for students to study cyber security. All students enrolled in computer classes will be reported and tracked by the government. All professionals in the cyber field will have to be nationally licensed and certified by the government. Programs will be developed in grades K-12 to seek out promising students in this area. SB 773 also supports an annual contest for students where top prize can not exceed, are you ready for this, $5,000,000. Yes, $5,000,000! Additionally, they will create a federal registry of "secure" domain names and the President gets to ensure compliance. If TORT laws effecting health insurance were not bad enough, the government will create a system of civil liability and insurance related to cyber security and will use cyber security to effect bond ratings. The government will also develop a program of identity management and authentication, with "appropriate" civil liberties. Not only does the President have the power to shut down federal and "critical" networks on a self declared cyber emergency, he also is given the power to disconnect those same networks in the name of national security.
If SB 773 wasn't bad enough, another bill was introduced into the Senate, this one is Senate Bill 778, also by Sen. Rockefellar. This bill gives the President the power to appoint a cyber advisor, at least the Senate was smart enough to make sure they got to confirm this appointment. This advisor will have full access to all special access programs, kinda sounds like a spy program to me. This advisor will also be allowed to grant/determine security clearance. The part that really helps centralize power within the White House, it allows the cyber advisor to the power to utilize resources of any other department and assign the HEAD of any agency or entity the performance of duties incidental to the administration of laws of the United States.
These bill seriously threaten our First Amendment right to free speech. It puts the power to shutdown the internet in an emergency. The wording of the bill is what makes the infringement possible. The bill will protect federal systems and whatever the President deems critical to national security. There could be shutdowns and even disconnection in the event of a cyber emergency or for national security. This is just another attempt to curb free speech and have the ability to shut down any voice of opposition. Another left wing grab at a liberty protected by the Constitution. Contact your Senators and tell them to vote this down. We already have departments and laws regulating computers, the internet and cyber security, this is simply an attempt to consolidate more power in the executive branch. We can not allow more attacks on our personal freedoms.

Defund ACORN
Here is a copy of the letter that I sent to one of my Senators. Please feel free to use this if you wish.
I was glad to see your support for the stoppage of funding to ACORN. I don't feel that is enough, the video tape footage shows criminal activity and conspiracy. I would like to see a full blown investigation into ACORN on all levels. There was the voter registration fraud in Florida, where members of ACORN plead guilty to those charges. If the video happened in only one ACORN office in one city, maybe it could be dismissed. But this type of wanton disregard for the law, in multiple cities can't be tolerated, especially by a group receiving tax payer money. In one of the videos, the ACORN rep told the couple that they would have to join ACORN, unless I'm mistaken isn't that in violation of the law as well. This organization seems to be leaking corruption from every possible angle.
You should push for the Attorney General to launch a full blown investigation into ACORN. Not only for the recent actions, but I think it should go back at least 10 years to fully investigate all parties, elected officials, community organizers, the leaders and the lobbyists. We have enough corruption in Washington, please step up and see that these criminals get what they have coming.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Randall Neal

ACORN & Obama
Here are the facts, from investigative journalists, researchers, and witnesses, tied together with sound reason. After reading, if you agree, please send this to those you know, whatever they currently believe.
* ACORN and Project Vote are being investigated for widespread electoral crimes in America’s closely contended states - potentially hundreds of thousands of fraudulent voter registrations and the destruction of those of Republican voters. The door is open for fraudulent votes and election theft.
* They have driven intimidated citizens into early voting, telling them how to vote.
* Obama has funneled $800,000 to ACORN for their 2008 General Election operations.
* Obama organized Project Vote activities in Chicago, in 1992 and has trained ACORN operators.
* Obama’s campaign in its Web site has tried to deny these facts.
* Obama as ACORN’s lawyer, sued Illinois in 1993, to make voter registration laxer.
* Obama as ACORN’s lawyer, sued Citibank in 1994, to force them into giving subprime loans to home buyers with poor credit ratings, contributing to the mortgage bubble and bust.
* Obama promised in 2007 to let ACORN and related groups “help us shape the agenda“ of his presidency, by meeting with them after the Nov. 4 election. What is their agenda? “Helping low income people?“ In someways, at least temporarily, but see below.
* ACORN’s tactical plan is from Rules for Radicals, by hardcore neo-Marxist, Saul Alinsky. Synopsis: the ends justify the means - ridicule, lie, cheat - be disruptive, or use stealth to gain power. Hold the virtuous to exaggerated and impossible standards, while not playing by their rules. Sell “change.” And the result of that change is an enforced “egalitarian” (neo-Marxist) society.
* OBAMA has taught these “rules.” He and Michelle Obama use Alinsky rhetoric.
* ACORN was started in the 1970’s by radicals, George Wiley & Wade Rathke, with input from sociologists, Richard A. Cloward and Frances Fox Piven - all of neo-Marxist ideology.
* ACORN founders’ strategy has been the Cloward-Piven Strategy - to overcommit government, growing it past the point of sustainability by causing crises. This, while developing an organized proletariat of dependent classes and applying them to disrupt society and revolt against American freedoms. All, to ring in the new “egalitarian” (neo-Marxist) state. That would be a big “change.“
* Cloward & Piven, plus ACORN’s leaders pushed to greatly expand America’s welfare roles. But welfare reform in the 1990's reversed that trend. Rudy Giuliani cited Cloward-Piven for an “economic sabotage“ that lead to the 1975 bankruptcy of New York City.
* ACORN was a driving force for the revised Community Reinvestment Act of 1995, pushing subprime mortgages through a very eager Fannie Mae. This allowed ACORN to pressure mortgagors to grant bad loans to bad risk home buyers in the name of helping the poor. Many of the poor were hurt further, while Fannie Mae prospered. Their personnel gave Obama‘s campaign $126,349. By contrast, John McCain attempted reform, but leftist congressmen shouted down reforms - leftist congressmen now found in a cloud of scandal.

* ACORN is funded in part by wealthy, anti-American radicals such as George Soros - and by our tax dollars.Their Web site claims a membership of over 400,000.
* ACORN is currently in the midst of another scandal involving helping people cheat the government. These people posed as a pimp and prostitute, told ACORN that's what they were and ACORN was more than happy to help them get a house. It get's worse, they admitted that they were bringing children in from other countries for the purpose of prostitution. This didn't happen at only one location, but at least two (Baltimore & Washington), the journalists have not confirmed or denied if there were more tapes.

* ACORN and Project Vote are being investigated for widespread electoral crimes in America’s closely contended states - potentially hundreds of thousands of fraudulent voter registrations and the destruction of those of Republican voters. The door is open for fraudulent votes and election theft.

* Obama has funneled $800,000 to ACORN for their 2008 General Election operations.

Obama's Health Care Speech
The first thing I have to say, is the way Congress can't be a civil legislative body while the President is speaking. I don't know when it started but, I can remember Congress booing and heckling President Bush during his speeches. Last night, Congress couldn't stay in their seats, jumping up and clapping at every little comment. This is the highest legislative body in the nation and these elected officials can't simply sit and listen to the speech. The continual stopping was ridiculous. I did find it quite amusing that the democrats couldn't stop clapping at every little remark until the TORT reform was mentioned and then they were sitting on their hands. Change everything but the TORT laws, that's just funny to me. I wonder who the trial lawyers support. Also, kudos to Rep. Wilson from South Carolina for calling out the President's misrepresentations. The democrats have been acting a lot worse than that in the last few years.
The next thing is, was this a campaign rally or an address to Congress? It sounded more like the rally speech he gave a couple of days earlier to his buddies at the union rally. The sheep in Congress jumping to their feet and cheering every word gave it even more of a rally feel than an address to Congress. Another item that gave it a rally feel was all of the I's and me's. I pulled the country back from ruin, I saved this and I did that and because of me.
Now, I can address Obama's speech. What plan is he talking about? The bill most people reference and is the easiest to obtain would be HR 3200. That is the bill that came out of the House of Representatives. A couple of committees in the Senate have produced a bill and several members of both houses have drafts. Obama keeps referring to his plan, in my plan this and my plan that. Where is your plan? Is it just some fantasy created in his head? The bill I read, and from the others I've seen parts of doesn't come close to anything he was talking about last night. He was supposed to lay out his plan and all he did was speak a whole bunch of mistruths and talk about fear tactics or political bullying, he did his fair share of that as well. What special interest is he talking about? I haven't heard anything from the insurance companies and can you blame them, would you want to speak out against the people that hold the fate of your livelihood or just hope for the best? The only interests I've seen is everyday, normal people. So are we, concerned citizens, the American people, special interests that are trying to kill health care?
Once again, Obama's fantasy health care plan, according to his speech was exactly what everyone wanted to hear. A little for the left, a little for the right and make it sound like the American people is who you care about. There was no substance to his speech, he didn't say anything. He mentioned public option to make those on the left happy, he mentioned tort reform and stopping fraud to make those on the right happy. He said it would be self funded to make the taxpayers happy. He did mention about covering preexisting conditions and not losing coverage while sick. Everybody agrees with that, but what is your idea to fix it? Do you have an idea for anything? On Labor Day, Obama claimed the opponents of the health care bill didn't have any plans, but addressing Congress, he acknowledged alternative plans. The same speech, on Labor Day, he claimed that opponents wanted to keep everything the same, but last night seemed to agree that everybody wants reform, it's just what type of reform.
He says he wants a health insurance exchange where the public option would be one of many, "they" (not quite sure who they are) estimate only 5% of people would take the public option and it would be self funded by the premiums it collects. If only 5% go to that option, how is it going to fund itself? It couldn't sustain itself, so where is the funding going to come from? Are all the people that can't afford insurance supposed to paying for it? It has to be "deficit neutral" but where is the funding going to come from. The only way for it to be deficit neutral would be to cut spending or raise taxes. Those are the only two ways to make it deficit neutral. This health insurance exchange isn't even supposed to take effect for 4 years. 4 years, just in time for reelection, how curious. If this is such a crisis, why is he going to wait? Why cram it down our throats? Look at Former Speaker of the House Gringrich's plan. He suggests breaking the health care bill down into 4 or 5 smaller bills instead of one monster omnibus bill that could ruin our health care system. Take one bill to reform the existing programs like medicare and medicaid which estimates $120 billion in waste and fraud per year combine that with TORT reform which is an additional $50 billion per year. If these programs are revamped and made more efficient wouldn't they handle the health care for those that don't have it? Wasn't that the original intent of those programs?
Obama has his outline but the "significant details" have to be worked out. What are the significant details? Apparently, the entire bill is the significant details since we have never seen this bill. So the Obama plan has a broad concensus and the "Death Panel" isn't included. HR 3200 has a provision that includes medical decisions based on a cost-benefit analysis determined by the health care commission. The formula calculates the cost of the service by the benefit of the person involved. So while there is no death panel by that name, there is a group that will determine if the person will benefit long enough to justify the cost of the procedure. Illegal aliens would be covered by HR 3200, in fact, attempts to attach a provision requiring proof of citizenship would not be added to the bill by it's sponsors. Additionally, a Supreme Court ruling made it unconstitutional for ANY person to denied medical treatment (that was interpreted to include illegals). That's why all the illegal aliens are currently being given medical services all around the country. I'm not even going to touch the federally funded abortion comment, the fact the ANYBODY has the right to tell anyone else what they can or can't do with their own body, to me, is just silly.
While Obama tried to reach across party lines and involve some reforms that make some common sense like portablility, interstate policies and by golly even made a slight comment about TORT reform. Slight comment because he blamed "defensive" medicine as a possible cause of higher insurance rates. It's not the defensive medicine alone that's raising rates, it's the multi-million dollar lawsuits. While some credit must be given for the attempt, only a little. Obama, just a few minutes after trying to reach across the aisle, said he would only entertain "serious" proposals. What's a serious proposal, one of the 30 that were held up during his speech or only one that has a public option in it? Obama also said that they wouldn't talk to anyone who only wanted to kill the bill. He also commented the day after that they might resort to reconciliation, how's that bipartisan support?
While the great Orator is up speaking about a plan with no details, no substance and no health care plan (written anyway) the sheep are all just falling in line. Obama is a good speaker (with a teleprompter), in fact he's so good, that he has made over 112 speeches. He's only been in office for about 210 days, that's about one every other day. One every other day! No wonder he doesn't have a plan, or a clue, he's too busy practicing for his next rally. Maybe that's the reason he appoints so many czars, somebody has to be acting President while he's speaking. Does he really think that if makes a speech everyone will just fall in line?
How is the United States going to pay for the plan? Obama said the plan had to be deficit neutral, makes sense on the surface, sounds good too. We already know the people who can't afford insurance are going to be on this plan, they obviously can't pay their own premiums. Are the 5% of people that move into the plan and pay their premiums going to fund the entire system. Wait, I remember now. He plans on taxing the "best" insurance policies from the insurance companies. If you tax only the highest costing policies, wouldn't people drop it and opt for the non taxed policies? I would. Would they not then tax the next highest when the highest has no members to tax? Are those without insurance going to be taxed as it says in HR 3200. Obama never actually explained how it's going to be paid for, not even a hint. HR 3200 raises taxes on insurance companies, insurance policies, employers, uninsured (kinda funny, aren't they the ones we're trying to insure)and of course the evil rich people.
I was disappointed by the omission of one cost savings measure. This strikes at the reason people with pre-existing conditions can't get insurance. Mandates. Mandates are government requirements stating what an insurance company must cover. These can be health care providers, health care services and patient populations. They can require chiropractors, acupuncture, hair plugs and substance abuse counseling. Not only does it force services or providers but also these mandates set costs. They set minimums and maximums that companies can charge. Here a just some of the things that the government mandates: alcoholism, cleft palate, contraceptives, substance abuse, hair prothesis, in vetro fertilization, port wine stain elimination, acupunturists, pastoral counseling, massage therapists and the best is community pooling.
I downloaded a report card to grade the speech and according to the report card, the President received 40%; not a very good grade and I graded very liberally, kinda of funny for me. Here were the 10 points to base the grading: 1. include litigation reform (he mentioned defensive medicine brought on by lawsuits so I gave him credit) 10 points. 2. stopping fraud in existing programs, he mentioned looking there for some savings so I gave him credit, 10 points. 3. Reject higher taxes, no credit for this one, no mention on what would happen with taxes. 4. Reject government rationing, he skated around this issue with no mention of rationing, no credit. 5. reject government run health care or bureaucratic care, we knew he wasn't going to get this one, no credit. 6. Open to multiple bipartisan bills, no credit, in fact Obama said he would attack anyone that tries to kill this bill. 7. Use normal procedures or resort to reconciliation, no credit for this one either. 8. Power to the individual, he said it so he got credit, I didn't believe him when he said it because since WWII the individual has very little say in their health care and with a bureaucrat in charge, you have any less control, 10 points 9. focus on health, wellness and early detection, he gets credit for this one although Obama made the false statement that wellness and early detection decrease insurance costs, there has not been a report or a study proving that, most reports show that it has no effect on the cost, 10 points. 10. invest in science and technology, again no credit, no mention of science or technology in any of his speech. 4 out of 10, not a very good score, especially when I gave him #1 & #2 even though it was very borderline.
10th Amendment
The 10th Amendment to the United States Constitution is the last Amendment of The Bill of Rights. The 10th Amendment states "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people". The concept of states' rights was so important to the founding fathers that the Bill of Rights was not the first time it was brought up. The 10th Amendment is similar to a provision in the Articles of Confederation.
The 10th Amendment is a very important Amendment to the Constitution, the founding fathers knew the importance of limiting the power of the federal government. The people created the federal government to be an "agent" to handle a limited scope of power. The ratification makes it clear that the people, not the state or federal governments did the ratification. The Amendment defines the scope of powers as delegated by the people to the federal government and enumerates those powers in the Constitution. Those that are not enumerated are left to the states or the people. Congress is not given the power to override state laws or does it give the judicial branch unlimited jurisdiction. It does not give Congress to power to legislate everything, attempts to allow that were soundly defeated by the signers. If Congress had the ability to legislate everything under the guise of "general welfare", why are Congressional powers specifically outlined in Article I, section 8? James Madison drafted the "Virginia Plan" which would have gave the federal government the power of unlimited legislation, judicial review of issues that might cause friction between the states, Congress a veto power over state laws, commission the national military against the states and redefine how states' select Senators. The "Virginia Plan" was soundly defeated every time Madison proposed it. The 10th Amendment emphasizes the states remain sovereign, individual and unique. This would empower the states in areas not outlined to the federal government and any attempt by the feds to legislate outside of Constitutional authority would be to infringe on the states' rights, therefore be unconstitutional. The importance of a governing document that imposes strict guidelines on the government can be easily understood by looking at what the founders had escaped, a tyrannical government ruled by a single king, who in his opinion, knew what was best for the entire kingdom, even the parts across the pond. Officials need to be held accountable for their actions and what better way to hold them accountable than to have a localized government. Who knows better than the states on what is best for them? A bureaucrat thousands of miles away or the individuals in the area? That is why the founders formed a loose confederate of states instead of a tight-knit one size fits all bureaucratic machine. "Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely." Lord Acton.
The 10th Amendment has faded into the background over the last 200 years and recently has come to the forefront, due to the recent centralizing of power by the federal government. I'm not only talking about the current administration, but administrations long before the current one have been working to consolidate power in the White House. The current administration just is trying to consolidate all the power possible in the first year in office, that obvious power grab has gotten the attention of the people of the United States. As of August 2009, 37 states have introduced legislation in support of state sovereignty under the 10th Amendment to the United States Constitution. 7 of those states have passed those resolutions. 2 states have passed legislation exempting citizens from federal firearm regulations and 1 state even has proposed a state constitutional amendment that would negate any national health program from operating within that state.
The 10th Amendment has been challenged in the courts several times, some of the more notable cases: New York vs. United States (1992), the Supreme Court invalidated portions of a federal law in favor of the 10th Amendment; Printz vs. United States (1997), the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the 10th Amendment over the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act; United States vs. Lopez (1995), the Supreme Court ruled a federal mandate unconstitutional because the Constitution did not give the power to Congress. This was the first time in the modern era that Congress' power was limited under the commerce clause.
Congress has several powers that it uses to force states into complying with federal laws. The most notable is the power to withhold funding. If states don't comply with national speed limit laws, they can lose federal highway funding, national drinking age and blood alcohol levels were all started federally and the states individually passed them. Congress uses this as a form of "cooperative federalism" to have states implement federal laws and mandates. "Advantages" of "cooperative federalism" include putting the decisions into the hands of local officials, who are more in tune with local conditions another "advantage" is state implementation doesn't increase federal bureaucracy.
Anything we can do to limit the federal government and keep control on the local levels would be in the best interest of the citizens. Contact your state level legislators and tell them to push for a resolution limiting federal power and reinforcing the 10th Amendment.

Educator in Chief
Since when did the President of the United States become the Educator in Chief? I can not believe that with all the problems the "most powerful man in world" has to deal with, why is he addressing school children? The address is for all school children pre-K thru 12, nearly all of these children won't be able to vote when he's up for re-election, so what could be the motivation? I'm hoping that it's simply a stay in school and study hard message, but I can't be that rosy. It would be much easier to put out a public service message but he has to have a live address to children as young as 4. What could he possibly tell a child of 4 that would relate to a high school student? What is so important that the President has to interrupt class time to tell children? I hate to be a "Evil Monger", but my only thoughts could indoctrination. Why else would a world leader talk to children. Not only is the speech itself disturbing, but the Department of Education is distributing sample lesson plans and brain storming questions to all the schools across the country. Asking kids how Obama is inspiring or what they can do to help Obama. Not only did the US Dept of Ed send these materials out, but soon after, the materials were changed to sound less political.
Obama already has the media on his side, controls the banking industry, controls the auto industry, is trying to control health care and has even gone as far as to impose a socialist agenda upon the National Endowment for the Arts.
It seems almost daily, I become more frightened but what I see happening. So much garbage was pushed through in the first few months of the current administration it makes all the centralization the previous administration did seem like pure capitalism. I'm tired of Liberals claiming that everyone is anti Obama. I can't argue a whole lot, lots of people are anti Obama but more and more people are becoming anti Washington. They see the foundations being set for a take over of this country, as Mark Levin says, a "soft tyranny". Slowly "they" have been chipping away at our freedoms, slowly so we don't notice or don't care. Americans have become fat, dumb and happy living in a haze of their own reality, totally missing the big picture, knowing we live in the greatest country in the world with the best government in the world protected by the greatest document in the world. Would anyone ever have thought that the real threat to our country could come from within?
